Kyler Murray released a statement on Monday following reports of his relationship with the Arizona Cardinals.
Recently, Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray’s Instagram activity caught the NFL world’s attention. Hours before Super Bowl 56, ESPN’s Chris Mortensen dropped a bombshell report regarding what appears to be a deteriorating relationship between team and quarterback.

In the aforementioned report by Mortensen, Murray was described as “self-centered, immature and a finger pointer.” Additionally, Murray was frustrated with the Cardinals and felt that he was being portrayed as a scapegoat following the team’s loss to the Los Angeles Rams in the playoffs. Despite this, Mortensen says the Cardinals expect things to calm down.
Additionally, NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo says that the Cardinals want Murray to take a step forward in leadership and body language.
Murray is three years into his NFL career after Arizona selected him with the first-overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. This season, the Cardinals looked like Super Bowl contenders after they entered their bye week with a 9-2 record. Arizona collapsed after the bye, going 2-4 and lost their bid to win the NFC West title. They then were blown out by the rival Rams 34-11 in the Wild Card Round.
This season, Murray threw for 3,787 yards, 24 touchdowns and 10 interceptions while completing 69.2-percent of his passes. Murray ran for 423 yards and five touchdowns on 88 carries.
Murray addressed the reports, and Cardinals fans are no doubt going to keep track of what is going to happen heading into the 2022 season.
