Matt Stafford no-look pass had Cooper Kupp absolutely shook

On the game-winning drive against the Bengals, Matthew Stafford completed a no-look pass that’s unreal to see. 

Matthew Stafford had ice in his veins with the game on the line for the Los Angeles Rams. Down 20-16 to the Bengals in Super Bowl 56, Stafford drove LA down the field and found Cooper Kupp for the game-winning score.

Before that touchdown, Stafford and Kupp hooked up for a long gain. Looking back at this particular play, it turns out Stafford wasn’t even looking when he let the ball loose to try and find Kupp. This is an unreal completion from the veteran signal-caller.

Few quarterbacks in the NFL can make that kind of a throw. This is why the Rams brought in Stafford to take over the offense from Jared Goff: to make unbelievable passes in crunch time. The toss was so good, even Kupp himself couldn’t believe that his quarterback was able to get this done.

“That was probably the best no-looker of his life,” Kupp said of Stafford. “I saw the lane and he fit it right in there.”

Entering the playoffs, Stafford had never won a postseason game before. He went through some lean years with the Detroit Lions, but he knew he had a golden opportunity with the Rams entering the 2021 season. The team had high expectations as well.

While there were some ups and down for Los Angeles this campaign, Stafford, Kupp, Odell Beckham Jr., Aaron Donald, Von Miller and others stepped up and closed things out with a nail-biting Super Bowl victory. In the win, Stafford finished with 283 yards passing, three touchdowns, two interceptions and one no-look pass that’s going to be talked about for years.
