Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins trolled a bettor who complained that cost him money in Super Bowl 56.

This should go without saying, but athletes do not care if you lose money on a bet on the game they are playing in. Perhaps the worst idea is to “@” them on Twitter so they can receive the notification.

One Twitter user decided that they wanted to let Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins know that he cost them money because he did not catch the second touchdown of Super Bowl 56. Not only that, but the user also blamed Higgins for being unable to buy a new computer.

Higgins responded to the user and trolled them.

The bettor in question put money on Los Angeles Rams wide receiver scoring the first touchdown of the game and Higgins scoring the second. Beckham did score the opening touchdown after mossing Bengals cornerback Mike Hilton on a pass from quarterback Matthew Stafford. Higgins did not get the second touchdown of the game, although he was close later in the first quarter. The second touchdown was scored by eventual Super Bowl 56 MVP Cooper Kupp.

Higgins did have himself a huge performance in Cincinnati’s third Super Bowl trip. The second-year wide receiver caught a touchdown pass from running back Joe Mixon to cut their deficit to 13-10 in the second half. On Cincinnati’s first drive of the second half, Higgins caught a 75-yard touchdown pass from Joe Burrow, despite getting away with a face mask penalty on Rams cornerback Jalen Ramsey.

Despite Cincinnati holding a 20-16 lead late in the fourth quarter, Los Angeles had a 19-play drive resulting in Stafford connecting with Kupp in the end zone to give them the 23-20 lead. Defensive tackle Aaron Donald secures the victory by forcing Burrow to throw a fourth-down incompletion on the ensuing drive.

Higgins finished the game catching four-of-eight passes for 100 yards and two touchdowns.

Let this be a lesson to all Twitter users — never “@” an athlete if you felt they cost you money on a bet or, worst of all, cost you a fantasy football matchup. They are playing to win the game for themselves and their team.
