5 targets for Bills in 2022 NFL free agency

Leonard Fournette could link up with a Super Bowl contending team in Buffalo
Leonard Fournette’s NFL free agency will be fascinating. He has seen team success with both the 2017 Jacksonville Jaguars and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers over the last two seasons. However, he has never lived up to the draft hype of being a top-four pick coming out of LSU. At his best, he is “Playoff Lenny”, a bell-cow back who can carry his team to postseason success in big-time spots.
What makes Buffalo a potential fit for him is obvious. The Bills’ running game is Josh Allen. That has worked out well for them in recent years, but that cannot be a long-term solution for them going forward. Fournette has shown, at times, he can be a reliable pass-catcher out of the backfield, but we all know he is at his apex taking one run between the tackles after another.
With Tampa Bay entering a period of great uncertainty at the quarterback position with Tom Brady retiring, Fournette may decide to go to another organization that values winning. Buffalo is going to be a winning franchise for as long as Allen is their quarterback and McDermott is their head coach. Losing Daboll to New York is a big deal, but adding a player like Fournette could be huge.
If the Bills want to take charge of the AFC in 2022, they need to add a battering ram like Fournette.
