Los Angeles Chargers Mock Draft – Second Round

Pick Analysis. DL. Texas A&M Aggies. 48. 13. Scouting Report. DeMarvin Leal. player

Of the best things the Chargers can do this offseason is get even more menacing in the trenches. While they did a great job of that along the offensive line a year ago by adding Corey Linsley in free agency and taking Rashawn Slater in the 2021 NFL Draft, the Bolts need to do the same along the defensive line. If DeMarvin Leal is there at No. 48 in the second round, take the Texas A&M Aggie.

Leal will be coming from one of the better programs in the SEC. While the Aggies have not even won their division under head coach Jimbo Fisher, this is a program that has been New Year’s Six caliber for some time. The best part in taking a player like Leal is he still has room to grow as a player. With the Chargers having a defensive-minded head coach, Staley would love this selection.

Ultimately, the Chargers are going to have to nail their first three picks. While they could go with a front-seven defender or a receiving threat with any of their first three draft picks, Los Angeles needs to take a home-run cut and take an elite SEC defensive playmaker like Leal when they have the chance. Look for Leal to routinely get after Derek Carr and Patrick Mahomes in divisional play.

Games are won and lost in the trenches, and this pickup by the Chargers can help them win more.
