DeMar DeRozan just broke a Wilt Chamberlain scoring record

Chicago Bulls star DeMar DeRozan went ahead and claimed a record that was previously owned by NBA legend Wilt Chamberlain.

When it comes to talking about basketball, typically it’s a good thing to be included in the same sentence as one of the greatest players the NBA has ever seen. If you’re playing up to the level of a legend and surpassing them, you’re probably accomplishing quite a bit for your team.

So, it’s very important to note that DeMar DeRozan and the Chicago Bulls are having all sorts of fun over the past few games. That’s because he just claimed a record that was previously owned by the remarkable Wilt Chamberlain.

Wednesday evening, DeRozan went ahead and extended his streak of scoring at least 35 points while also making 50 percent of his shots to seven games.

That’s just incredible.

Despite what some on Twitter might believe, it’s very difficult to score 20 points (or more) in the NBA. It’s even harder to score at least 35 points in a game. And it’s just about impossible to do that in seven games straight while also being remarkably efficient as a scorer.

Because DeRozan is so good and efficient, the Bulls just keep winning. Chicago currently sits at first in the Eastern Conference with a 38-21 record and is on a five-game winning streak.

If DeRozan keeps this up, or even plays remotely like this in the postseason, Chicago will be a force to be reckoned with.
