The Kansas Jayhawks Men’s Basketball team has been one of the most successful in America. This year, they’re once again vying for a title.

Kansas has one of the richest histories for men’s college basketball. The Jayhawks won in 1952, knocking off St. John’s (NY) to take home its first trophy. In ’08, it was Mario Chalmers and Co. taking care of Derrick Rose and the Memphis Tigers in a stunning comeback.

As you can see, the birthplace of basketball is doing alright for itself with a staggering 49 appearances in the NCAA Men’s Tournament. Kansas has been a fixture on almost an annual basis, with the last tourney missed being back in 1989. Of course, that was a season after Danny Manning and the Miracles won it all, giving the Jayhawks their second national title.

Kansas doesn’t only make the tournament, it goes deep into the bracket. The Jayhawks have reached the Final Four on five occasions this century, last doing so in 2018. We also saw another stretch of fairly-recent greatness, with Kansas going four times between 1986-93.

The Jayhawks have consistently gone to March Madness and been a smart pick by many trying to win a little scratch on the side. Kansas is looking for its 110th win and then some in 2022, after everything came to a surprise blowout loss last season in the Round of 32 against the sixth-seeded USC Trojans.
