2022 NFL Draft: New York Giants 7-round mock
New York Giants Mock Draft – Fifth Round
Having a collection of versatile defenders can make life easier for a defensive coordinator to match up with different opponents. One potential late round gem for the Giants is Weatherford, a free safety for Miami of Ohio that can also slide down to play linebacker if necessary.
With Jabrill Peppers set to test free agency, adding a guy like Weatherford can help the Giants maintain quality depth in their secondary, which was the defense’s strength a year ago. Weatherford also brings tremendous intangibles and competitiveness, attributes that are good qualities to help transform a locker room that has been besieged by losing in recent years.
This pick comes to New York in a trade from the Baltimore Ravens and they use it to take a flyer on an athletic offensive lineman out of Tulsa. Paul has no relation to the All-Star NBA point guard of the same name.
New York Giants Mock Draft – Sixth Round
Schoen has already committed to building around Daniel Jones this season, which is a wise decision since this year’s quarterback crop leaves something to be desired. McKee does have some good traits that make this a decent flyer for a developmental backup.
New York Giants Mock Draft – Seventh Round
The Giants do not currently own a seventh-round pick after trading theirs to the Cincinnati Bengals to land offensive lineman Billy Price.
