4. Top free-agent landing spots for Odell Beckham Jr. – New York Jets

Another rebuilding team in need of a top receiver is the New York Jets, who are on the way up with a young quarterback of their own in Zach Wilson. The Jets’ receiver room is already in good shape with Corey Davis and Elijah Moore but still needs a true No. 1 receiver to round out the group.

The idea of a return to New York should also hold some appeal to Beckham, who likely has a sense of unfinished business after getting traded by the Giants in 2019. The Jets would also be intrigued by the fact that Beckham has had success in the New York market, which is one of the most difficult to play in for an athlete.

The ACL injury could also create a bit of a buy-low opportunity for the Jets, who have a ton of needs to address in the offseason without quite as much cap room as a team like Jacksonville. New York’s offensive system is also based on the highly innovative system that Kyle Shanahan has used in San Francisco, which can lead to some star numbers for top receivers.

The question here is whether Beckham feels it is wise to return to New York with all of the media pressure that will come with it. The Jets would also have to evaluate whether taking a gamble on Beckham’s post-ACL form is a better investment than either drafting a receiver in the first round or trading for someone like Calvin Ridley.
