When was the last time Purdue Boilermakers basketball won a championship?
By Mark Powell
From Gene Keady to Matt Painter, Purdue is a regular in the NCAA Tournament. But have they found the kind of sustained success one would expect?
Purdue spent the majority of the 2021-22 campaign near the top of the Big Ten standings, and in the conversation for a No. 1 seed. There’s no guarantee the Boilermakers make a deep tournament run — as Purdue fans have discovered all too well since the Gene Keady era in the 1980’s.
With Jaden Ivey leading the way, Purdue’s men’s team should be among the favorites again this March.
Has Purdue basketball ever won a championship?
The men’s basketball program has never won a National Championship.
The women’s basketball program took home the hardware in 1999, an incredible feat for the athletic department as a whole.
