Is Aaron Rodgers leaving Green Bay?
By John Buhler
Aaron Rodgers’ Instagram bombshell from Monday night has sent the NFL world and Green Bay Packers fans into full-blown panic mode.
With one lengthy Instagram post, Aaron Rodgers has the Green Bay Packers and the NFL world on the edge of their seats.
The four-time NFL MVP sent out a lengthy message thanking some of his Packer teammates and his ex-fiancee Shailene Woodley in an incredibly cryptic post. After a tumultuous offseason, Rodgers decided to run it back for the 2021 Packers. They lost in the NFC Divisional Round to the San Francisco 49ers as the No. 1 seed. Is Rodgers either leaving Green Bay or is he really retiring?
Whatever Rodgers decides, Tuesday’s episode of The Pat McAfee Show will break the internet.
Aaron Rodgers rumors: Is star quarterback leaving the Green Bay Packers?
While it remains to be seen if Rodgers requests a trade or opts for retirement, this cryptic Instagram post does not sound good for his chances of returning to Green Bay. A long list of “thank you’s” does not sound like somebody is down for doing the same ole, same ole again. It signifies a major change is coming. Though Rodgers could play elsewhere, he might just retire.
If Rodgers looks to play elsewhere, the presumptive favorite to get him would be the Denver Broncos. They just hired former Packers offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett to be their next head coach. Denver has a strong roster everywhere else but quarterback. They might play in a tough division, but Rodgers is a West Coast guy at heart. The Broncos also play over in the AFC.
While Rodgers may stay put or leave Green Bay by way of trade, it feels like he is closer to retiring.
