Round 3: Justyn Ross

Ross’ size might lead fans to believe he’s an ideal outside receiver at the pro level, but his lack of quick-twitch athleticism actually makes him a better fit in the slot. The Bears need help all over their wide receiver group so the distinction isn’t overly important to their front office.

The former Clemson star is a good route-runner who has really strong hands. Combine that with his legitimate 6-foot-3 frame and it’s easy to understand why he can help Fields next season. Ross can turn into a quality safety blanket for his young signal-caller.

The wideout’s ability to get down the field vertically and make plays is what makes him such an intriguing prospect. If he finds a way to modestly improve his speed he’s got a chance to threaten opposing defenses over the top from the slot position.

Ross does have some injury concerns dating back to his high school career that might cause some teams to pass on him, but if his medicals check out Chicago should take a long look at him when Round 3 rolls around.
