2. J.C. Jackson

There’s a really strong argument to having J.C. Jackson as the top available free agent this season. He’s quick, athletic, and able contend with just about every receiver he’s matched up against. With the way Jackson is able to snag passes, there are times where he honestly looks like someone who could be playing wide receiver.

Jackson has picked off eight passes in 2021-22. One of those interceptions resulted in a touchdown for the New England Patriots.

If that seems like a lot of interceptions for one season, it is. But Jackson has been very adept and grabbing interceptions so far. Since 2018, his first season in the NFL, Jackson has picked off 25 interceptions. Nine of those interceptions happened in 2020-2021, a season during which Jackson also picked up three fumbles.

And all things considered, 25 picks in 62 games isn’t bad at all. It’s a very respectable total for anyone, but definitely someone who has only been in the NFL for four seasons. Jackson seems like a pretty solid investment to a team that needs any sort of difference maker in its secondary.
