1. Stephon Gilmore

If he can be healthy, Stephon Gilmore could be the best available cornerback in free agency. That seems like a fairly big ask of any NFL veteran who has been in the NFL for a decade now, but maybe it’s not unreasonable to ask of someone who hasn’t yet turned 32 years old.

Gilmore’s athleticism and physical talents make him someone who can be dangerous with any opportunity, as long as he’s healthy. But, as a 31-year-old cornerback in the NFL, he’s not as dynamic as he once was. That’s where that decade of experience and having played in 132 games and having made 125 starts can definitely come in handy.

Gilmore is probably on the back end of his career. It seems unlikely that he’ll continue on for many more seasons, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t valuable.

Gilmore has picked off 27 passes throughout his career and recorded 427 tackles throughout the years. He’s been good enough to make it to five different Pro Bowls and he’s been named to the All-Pro teams twice.

Gilmore was only able to play in eight games this past season and he only made three starts. If he can return to full health, then Gilmore could be considered among the best defenders in the NFL. If he’s not healthy, then the aforementioned Jackson is the best free-agent corner to take a look at.
