Packers fan favorite destroys Greg Jennings for Aaron Rodgers take

Former Packers fan favorite John Kuhn defended Aaron Rodgers after Greg Jennings called him out for reported contract demands.

Reports earlier in the week suggested that Rodgers wanted to become the highest-paid player in the NFL, perhaps making as much as $50 million per year. Those numbers, as it turns out, were false per Rodgers himself.

Before we had the benefit of such news, however, former Packers wide receiver Greg Jennings appeared on First Things First and took some shots at Rodgers.

“Now all of a sudden you’re trying to take a large chunk of the pie, knowing that Davante Adams is out there,” Jennings said. “[Rodgers] understands what this means and what this does to the personnel. You might have to get rid of some of these guys.”

Kuhn retired after the 2017 season, but made three Pro Bowls and one All-Pro team in his time as a Packer. He’s not just some random fan favorite, and even won a Super Bowl with Rodgers in Green Bay.

Jennings eventually took his talents to Minnesota — the Packers rival — near the end of his career. Leaving Green Bay for another NFC North foe is unthinkable, yet it happened with Jennings (and even Brett Favre, but who’s counting).

In the end, Jennings wanted more money, which is why he signed with Minnesota in the first place. The Packers moved forward with other options at wide receiver such as Jordy Nelson, who put up Pro Bowl numbers after Jennings’ exit.

Jennings seems a little salty that Rodgers has essentially cut the wideout out of his life, fair or not. The two have a checkered past since Jennings left for the Vikings.

“We don’t text, we don’t communicate like that,” Jennings said. “We haven’t had an official sit-down, like bring it all in for a hug, since I left Green Bay. … We had a great relationship [in Green Bay] … Our relationship now has been non-existent. I tried to reach out to refurbish it but haven’t had any success. The acceptance from his side has just not been there.”

Don’t expect that to change now.
