By Scott Rogust
New South Carolina Gamecocks quarterback Spencer Rattler signed a new NIL deal.
After two years with the Oklahoma Sooners, quarterback Spencer Rattler announced he was entering the transfer portal. Shortly thereafter, he revealed that he would be transferring over to play for the South Carolina Gamecocks and head coach Shane Beamer. Months after his transfer, Rattler has a new name image and likeness (NIL) deal.
Jim Hudson Chevrolet in Columbia, S.C. announced that they have signed Rattler to a new NIL deal, which included a new Silverado pickup truck. Rattler confirmed the news on his Twitter account.

South Carolina football: Spencer Rattler signs new NIL deal
This is not Rattler’s first NIL deal with a car dealership. Back in September, Rattler signed a deal with Fowler Automotive Group that gave him a choice of two vehicles.
Rattler entered the 2021 season with Oklahoma, where he was considered to be one of the top quarterback prospects in the 2022 NFL Draft class. Yet, things did not pan out that way, as he was benched midway through the campaign in favor of Caleb Williams.
In nine games with the Sooners, Rattler threw for 1,483 yards, 11 touchdowns and five interceptions while completing 74.9-percent of his passes.
It was quite an eventful year not just for Rattler, but the Oklahoma football program. Head coach Lincoln Riley left after their regular-season finale to become the new sideline boss for the USC Trojans. Williams replaced Rattler as the Sooners’ starting quarterback, then transferred over to USC.
Rattler looks to bounce back in his junior season, which will be his first as a member of the Gamecocks.
