Vince McMahon is going all out for WrestleMania 38, as he is reportedly scheduled to have a match against sports media personality Pat McAfee.

WWE is going all out for WrestleMania 38 in terms of bringing in big names for the show. Ronda Rousey is challenging for the SmackDown Women’s Championship, celebrity boxer Logan Paul is teaming up with The Miz for a match against Rey and Dominik Mysterio, and Johnny Knoxville appears to be destined to step in the ring at WrestleMania. But that is not stopping chairman and CEO Vince McMahon from pulling out all of the stops, apparently.

On the Feb. 25 edition of SmackDown, it was revealed that McMahon would appear on “The Pat McAfee Show” on March 3 live in studio. But it is not just for a regular interview with the former NFL punter and current SmackDown commentator.

POST Wrestling reported on Friday night that McMahon is scheduled to launch a program with McAfee during his appearance, where it would “most likely” be billed as an official match at WrestleMania 38.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter said that as of Friday night, McMahon vs. McAfee was listed as a match on the internal schedule for WrestleMania.

Wild Vince McMahon vs. Pat McAfee match reportedly in store for WWE WrestleMania 38

McMahon is currently 76-years-old as of this writing, and it is wild to think about the possibility of him stepping in the ring to compete.

The last match McMahon competed in was back in 2012 when he took on CM Punk in the main event of the Oct. 8 edition of Monday Night Raw. His last official match was at WrestleMania 26 when he lost to Bret “Hitman” Hart in a No Holds Barred match.

McAfee, a superstar in the sports media world, made his in-ring debut back in NXT in 2020. He began a feud with Adam Cole on his show, culminating in a match between the two at TakeOver 30. McAfee received tremendous praise for his performance in his first official match, which he lost to Cole.

Later that year, his team of Pete Dunne, Danny Burch, Oney Lorcan and himself took on the Undisputed Era (Cole, Kyle O’Reilly, Roderick Strong and Bobby Fish) in a War Games match at NXT TakeOver War Games. The Undisputed Era were victorious in that match.

Will this actually news actually result in a match between McAfee and McMahon? Or will it head in another direction? Either way, expect a program between McMahon and McAfee to begin in the aforementioned interview on Thursday.
