Ja Morant’s first half against the Spurs had NBA Twitter in a state with the dunk of the year and a stunning buzzer-beater before halftime.
If a picture is worth a thousand words then video of Ja Morant’s insane highlights against the Spurs is worth a million tweets.
The Memphis Grizzlies star set a new standard for highlights in 2022 with two absolutely ridiculous moments on Monday night.
It started with a dunk that should retroactively give Morant the NBA Dunk Contest crown.

Morant didn’t even let that play stand alone in its ability to put jaws on the floor. Because he also did this:

People came out of the woodwork to talk about how outrageously entertaining Morant is.

Ja Morant officially put together a first half with more highlights than an entire Grit n' Grind Era season. What is done in the dark will be revealed in the light.

It’s Ja’s NBA. We’re all just living in it.
Morant’s first half against San Antonio would have been impressive on the stat sheet alone. He had 29 points, four rebounds and an assist while hitting 12-of-15 field goals including all four of his three-point attempts.
When the Grizzlies drafted him No. 2 overall in 2019 they could only dream of the kind of performances he’s now delivering in his third season in the league. He checked one box by becoming an All-Star for the first time while averaging 27.1 points, 5.9 rebounds, 6.7 assists and 1.2 steals.
Memphis has a superstar on their hands. With Morant emerging as an MVP candidate, they sit in first place in the Southwest and third in the Western Conference.
Considering how Morant averaged 30.2 points in the playoffs last season, no one will be looking forward to facing him when the postseason arrives.
