If the Green Bay Packers could take one player from each of their NFC North rivals, here are three that they should consider.

The Green Bay Packers have dominated the NFC North in recent years, as they have won the division title for the past three seasons. Has it resulted in a Super Bowl victory? Well, no.

Now, the Packers are awaiting a decision from star quarterback Aaron Rodgers and figure out how to keep impending free-agent wide receiver Davante Adams. With some downtime before the start of the 2022 league year, let’s discuss a hypothetical situation.

What if NFL teams were allowed to take one player from each of their division rivals? In the Packers’ case, which player from the Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings should they take?

Here are players to consider. Again, this is all hypothetical.

Taking Roquan Smith from the Bears would solve Packers’ longstanding LB issue

When it comes to the Packers, their linebackers have been a problem. They could look to the Bears to solve this issue by taking Roquan Smith.

The former Georgia Bulldog was one of the top top linebacker prospects in the entire 2018 NFL Draft class. Bradley Chubb was the first linebacker taken off the board with the fifth-overall pick by the Denver Broncos. The Bears selected Smith with the eighth overall pick.

In his four years in the NFL, Smith has solidified himself as the team’s starting middle linebacker of the future. He was named to the All-Pro Second Team for the past two seasons.

In 2021, Smith recorded 163 combined tackles, three sacks, three passes defended and one interception. Overall, Smith has logged 524 total tackles, 17 quarterback hits, 17 defended passes, 14 sacks and five interceptions.

Smith has one more year remaining on his rookie deal. Bears fans sure are hoping he will be signed to a long-term deal.
