College basketball media had strong reactions to UNC upsetting Duke in Coach K’s final home game at Cameron Indoor Stadium.
It was supposed to be a feel-good story for the Duke Blue Devils and head coach Mike Krzyzewski. The legendary coach was set to play his final game at home in his illustrious career and ride off as a triumphant hero. That was until the UNC Tar Heels showed up.
The Tar Heels’ 94-81 victory in Coach K’s Final Game at Cameron Indoor Stadium leaves the Blue Devils, who entered the contest ranked 4th in the county, in a state of disbelief and disappointment.
Needless to say, social media and the college basketball world were buzzing with reactions. Tar Heels fans were obviously pleased. Blue Devils? Not so much.

Coach KO’D
Judging by the students’ looks who attended the game, it was sad, especially after Duke went into halftime with the lead and had a pregame ceremony all decked out, with former players who played under Coach K coming back to honor him.
Must be tearing Coach K apart to lose his final home game to ... Carolina.

UNC upsets Duke in Coach K’s Final Home Game: College basketball media reactions
Before the game, the Cameron Crazies were rocking, and by halftime, there was a reason to celebrate, but in the second half, the Tar Heels went ballistic and outscored the Blue Devils 55-40 following intermission.
North Carolina had four players scoring over 20 points, with Armando Bacot leading the way at 23. Caleb Love finished with 22, RJ Davis had 21, and Brady Manek finished with 20. The same could not be said for Duke. Paolo Banchero was the leading scorer with 23 points. No other Blue Devils player scored over 20.
Brutal way to go out for Coach K, unless, of course, he winds up winning the whole thing in April in New Orleans. As for North Carolina, they have the joy of saying they beat the Blue Devils in the legendary coach’s final home game.
