3 quarterbacks not named Jimmy G the Bucs should consider this offseason
By Ethan Lee
With Tom Brady leaving the Tampa Bay Buccaneers behind him, it’s time to find a new quarterback for this franchise moving forward.
Life without Tom Brady will be interesting for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. While Tampa Bay just had one of the most brilliant and successful quarterbacks ever as the face of their franchise, the Buccaneers are now tasked with finding a new quarterback.
The Buccaneers might need to get a little creative with finding Brady’s replacement. They won’t ever be able to truly replace Brady, but they might be able to find someone who could be a decent option to help this team remain a winner.
At the moment, it looks like the Buccaneers are somewhat interested in the idea of giving the young Kyle Trask a shot at the starting quarterback role.

But what if Trask isn’t ready just yet? What if he needs some more time? Who could the Buccaneers turn to as they continue to develop their young quarterback?
Tampa Bay Buccaneers: 3 quarterbacks other than Jimmy Garoppolo the Buccaneers should consider
Teddy Bridgewater
Bruce Arians mentioned that door number two for the Buccaneers would be a trade, but they don’t necessarily need to make a trade to get a decent quarterback who could provide more time for Trask to continue developing.
Teddy Bridgewater is a pretty good example of that.
Bridgewater has become a journeyman quarterback who plays for teams that haven’t quite figured out what they want to do at the position. But he’s a respectable option for that sort of role.
Since being drafted in 2014, Bridgewater has played for four teams. During that timeframe, he has thrown for 14,437 yards and 71 touchdowns against 43 interceptions in 73 games. And he’s doing that while completing 66.5 percent of his passes.
That’s not great, but it isn’t bad.
There are some injury history concerns and he’s probably not guiding a team to a championship. That said, while he won’t make the Buccaneers a Super Bowl contender, Bridgewater is a pretty good stopgap option for a season or two until Tampa Bay figures out what they want to do in the long run.
Whether that’s to develop Kyle Trask or find some other quarterback, Bridgewater can help Tampa Bay win some games and remain a desirable location for free agents as the franchise gets things sorted out.
But, if the Buccaneers do want to make a trade, there is a very experienced quarterback who is currently with a franchise that is in the midst of making a ton of changes.
