Mina Kimes is pounding the Arizona Cardinals into submission
By Scott Rogust
ESPN’s Mina Kimes, an avid Seattle Seahawks fan, clapped back at the Arizona Cardinals for poking fun at the Russell Wilson trade to the Denver Broncos.
To say that the NFL dominated the sports news cycle was an understatement. First, it was revealed that Aaron Rodgers would be returning to the Green Bay Packers. But a couple of hours later, reports revealed that the Seattle Seahawks traded star quarterback Russell Wilson to the Denver Broncos.
Obviously, it was a tough day for Seahawks fans to watch the team trade their face of the franchise. But it was a day for rivals of the NFC West team to make fun of Seattle.
The Arizona Cardinals’ official Twitter account tweeted at Kimes asking, “you good?” Then, Kimes responded with the same question, but it included a photo of Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray wearing an Oakland Athletics uniform.
Kyler Murray responds to Mina Kimes’ clap back at Cardinals
There were plenty of sports fans on Twitter to see the savage tweet by Kimes, including Murray himself, who responded with a tweet of his own.
Before Murray was drafted with the first-overall pick by the Cardinals in 2019, he was actually selected with the No. 9 pick by the Athletics in the 2018 MLB Draft. Of course, Murray ultimately passed on his baseball career after he won the Heisman Trophy in 2018 and opted to play football.
Murray made some news on Tuesday as well. Remember weeks ago when he scrubbed his Instagram account of all things related to the Cardinals NFL franchise? Well, he re-uploaded each previously-deleted photo. This happened after his agent released a statement expressing their desire of having long-term stability with the Cardinals. Murray has two more years remaining on his rookie contract.
Regardless, the talk of the NFC West at the moment is the Seahawks trading away Wilson to the AFC West. If there is one thing to learn if you are a fan of Seattle’s division rivals, don’t mess with Mina Kimes.
