With Russell Wilson being traded to the Denver Broncos, Seahawks fans will circle their calendars for his return to Seattle in 2022 once the date is set.

It’s been a hectic Tuesday in the NFL, with the major news including Russell Wilson being traded by the Seattle Seahawks to the Denver Broncos. This is a hard pill to swallow for the Seattle faithful.

With that said, it won’t be long until Wilson as back at Lumen Field for people to see him in action action. Denver is scheduled to trip to Seattle this upcoming campaign. The exact date hasn’t been finalized, but there’s speculation that it could go down either Week 1 or Week 2.

Seeing Russell Wilson in a different jersey will be weird for Seattle fans

Again, the exact date for when Wilson will return to Seattle with the Broncos is up in the air, but people will be ready to welcome him back to the 206 with open arms. Wilson is a major part of Seattle’s history, as he helped bring the first Super Bowl title to the Emerald City.

Wilson nearly had two Super Bowl wins with the Seahawks, but that loss to New England with the infamous interception at the goal line will haunt the team forever. Regardless of that, Wilson should go down as a Seahawks legend.

A quick look at Twitter shows that fans aren’t mad at Wilson, instead they are furious with general manager John Schneider. For the Seahawks to trade a franchise QB in Wilson seems incomprehensible to so many.

This trade came after both Schneider and Pete Carroll had said the front office had no plans in dealing Wilson elsewhere. That proved to be a lie. It’s really going to take a while for people to get used to the thought of Wilson’s time with the Hawks being over.
