Russell Wilson trade: What moves must the Las Vegas Raiders make now?

The Raiders have more cap space than the Chiefs, but not as much as the Broncos and not as much as the Chargers. With this being a new regime in Las Vegas, expect for the Raiders to take on more of a New England Patriots personality with the likes of Josh McDaniels and Dave Ziegler taking over the operation. They must add defensive backs, a linebacker and a No. 1 wide receiver.

If the Raiders want to be playoff-viable, they need to get better in the back-end of their defense. They could look at former Patriots players McDaniels and Ziegler know well like J.C. Jackson or even Stephon Gilmore. As far as the linebacking corps is concerned, the Raiders brass needs to trust what type of players new defensive coordinator Patrick Graham likes and go from there.

But the biggest thing the Raiders need to do is get themselves a true No. 1 wide receiver. This will go a long way towards providing the necessary supporting cast for Derek Carr to be playing at his absolute apex. He has a tight end, a running back and a possession receiver, but any free agent who has been to a Pro Bowl or two could fit in very nicely in this newfangled Raiders offense.

Though the dynamic has changed with Wilson’s arrival, these rival teams have moves to make.
