With Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady not retiring, Aaron Rodgers received the wrath of Twitter since the NFC is no longer a cake walk.
When Rodgers initially decided not to retire just a few days ago, the NFC appeared the much easier route to a Super Bowl than the AFC. For one, the NFC North hasn’t been much of a challenge for Rodgers the past few seasons. Second, outside of the Rams and perhaps 49ers, there weren’t many direct challengers to the Packers for top spot in the conference.
Then, Tom Brady dropped a bomb.
After just two months of retirement, Brady is back with the Buccaneers. Brady announced the decision in a statement on Twitter, in which he thanked his family for their support and expressed excitement to his Bucs teammates. Brady has unfinished business.
Tom Brady not retiring: Aaron Rodgers gets trolled
The Buccaneers and Packers are on a level playing field in terms of NFC favorites now that Brady is back. Both should be among the favorites to reach the Super Bowl, along with the defending champion Rams.
Part of Brady’s decision may have been the lack of competition in the NFC — and who can blame him? Rodgers, however, may be wishing he made a different choice.

Now that Tom Brady is coming back, Aaron Rodgers can retire and not be overshadowed by Brady at the Hall of Fame ceremony in five years.

Aaron Rodgers, in two hours: "Hey guys. So actually, those contract numbers I originally called incorrect were actually true. I just wanted to show that you shouldn't always believe the woke media. The timing of this tweet is totally random, by the way. Love and peace, AR"

Now, to be fair to Rodgers, he was merely taking his time with his decision. The Packers quarterback couldn’t choose between retirement, returning to the Packers or playing elsewhere for seemingly weeks.
After numerous reports and trade scenarios, Rodgers finally got back to us and signed a contract extension with the Packers earlier this week.
It just…took awhile.
Meanwhile, the best quarterback of all-time stole his thunder with a quiet Twitter statement. Once again, the GOAT found a way to upstage that other No. 12 in Green Bay.
