Top potential March Madness games

4. South Region Elite Eight – No. 1 Arizona vs. No. 3 Tennessee

A trip to the Final Four is on the line here as Arizona looks to topple Tennessee to help Tommy Lloyd become the first coach to ever guide a team to a national championship in his first full year as head coach. Getting there could require an excellent matchup against Tennessee in a regular-season rematch of a game the Volunteers won in Knoxville back in December.

Tennessee is also peaking right now as they enter March Madness fresh off an SEC Tournament crown and with a trio of wins over Auburn and Kentucky on their resume. This spot could also offer some redemption for Volunteers’ head coach Rick Barnes, who was unceremoniously fired by Texas after the 2015 season for failing to have enough success in the NCAA Tournament.

3. West Region Elite Eight – No. 1 Gonzaga vs. No. 2 Duke

The Krzyzewski watch continues as Duke’s path to the Final Four will likely come with significant opposition from the nation’s top team. Gonzaga and Duke actually faced off during the regular season in Las Vegas with the Blue Devils handing the Bulldogs their first loss of the season the day after Thanksgiving.

The theater here would be tremendous as Gonzaga seeks its first national title while Duke looks to send off Krzyzewski with at least one more trip to the Final Four. The basketball should be excellent too as their first meeting this season was an 84-81 thriller.
