March Madness 2022: Where is Murray State University?

The Murray State Racers are taking on the San Francisco Dons in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
The Murray State Racers clinched the seventh-seed in the East Region of the 2022 NCAA Tournament, where they are matching up against the San Francisco Dons, the 10th-seed on Thursday, March 17 at 9:40 p.m. ET.
Murray State clinched their 18th NCAA Tournament berth after going 30-2 in the regular-season, and won the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament. The Racers are looking to make some noise in March Madness looking to get past the Sweet Sixteen for the first time in the program’s history.

Where is Murray State University
Murray State University is a four-year public university located in Murray, Kentucky. The university was founded in 1922.
The Racers basketball program officially began in 1935.
Murray State basketball NCAA Tournament history
As mentioned earlier, the Racers made the NCAA Tournament 18 times, but they have a cumulative record of 4-17.
The furthest the Racers have gone in the NCAA Tournament was back in 2012, where they defeated Colorado State in the second round, but lost to Marquette in the next round. They went on that run as the No. 6 seed, which happens to be the highest ranking the team has ever received in its history.
Murray State last made it to the NCAA Tournament back in 2019,. where they were led by Ja Morant, the eventual second-overall pick in that year’s NBA Draft by the Memphis Grizzlies. The Racers defeated Marquette 83-64 in the first round, but fell to Florida State by the score of 90-62.
