Trevor Bauer’s administrative leave extended by MLB until mid-April

Trevor Bauer won’t be able to pitch for the Los Angeles Dodgers to get the season started as his administrative leave has been extended into April.
With the way things look right now, don’t expect to see Trevor Bauer pitching in the first few games of the 2022 MLB season. The administrative leave that Bauer is currently on has been extended into mid-April, meaning that Bauer initially won’t be able to play as the Los Angeles Dodgers get their season started.
Bauer was originally placed on administrative leave in July 2021 and, at the moment, that leave has been extended to April 16, 2022. With the Dodgers’ first game currently being scheduled for April 8 against the Colorado Rockies, Bauer will miss some time as the season starts up.

As the Associated Press reports, prosecutors have previously decided not to charge Bauer for an alleged incident that involved a San Diego woman Bauer met on social media.
According to the Associated Press, the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office stated that prosecutors could not “prove the woman’s accusations beyond a reasonable doubt” and they subsequently concluded their investigation.
Bauer has not pitched since June 28, 2021. Bauer was placed on administrative leave just days following that last outing, on July 2, 2021.
It remains to be seen what will happen with Bauer. 2022 represents the second year of Bauer’s contract with the Dodgers, but he is not currently able to play due to the administrative leave. Bauer has a player’s option for his third year of his contract with the Dodgers.
