The Philadelphia Phillies are looking to find a way to win now and they added Nick Castellanos to their lineup to do just that.

Nick Castellanos has a new home. The Philadelphia Phillies were able to come to an agreement with the talented free agent and he’s set to hit interestingly timed home runs in the NL East for the foreseeable future.

As ESPN’s Jeff Passan pointed out, Castellanos and the Phillies were able to reach an agreement on a contract.

If you were thinking that contract would be a pretty lucrative one, then you’d be right. Castellanos is making a ton of money over the next few seasons thanks to a pretty significant deal from the Phillies.

According to a tweet from MLB Network’s Jon Heyman, the Phillies will be paying Castellanos a total of $100 million over a term of five years.

The move is huge and it gives the Phillies yet another slugger in their lineup. While signing Castellanos doesn’t change everything for the Phillies, it does add another dangerous bat to its lineup to a team that just added another dangerous bat to its lineup.

The Phillies recently signed Kyle Schwarber to a four-year contract. Now they’ve got Castellanos for five years. Last season, Schwarber and Castellanos combined to hit 66 home runs. Throughout their careers, the duo has hit a total of 321 home runs.

Adding this duo to a lineup that already features Bryce Harper and it seems likely that the Phillies will be hitting quite a few home runs for the foreseeable future. If you happen to need a team to root for and you enjoy seeing home runs, it seems like the Phillies might be the team for you.
