Skip Bayless turned into the voice of reason on the Browns trade for Deshaun Watson, blasting the team for hypocrisy on their “adult” stance.

Leave it to Skip Bayless to drop one of the best tweets of the day regarding Deshaun Watson and the Browns.

On Friday, Bayless went after the Cleveland organization for the handling of their quarterback situation after a report suggested they wanted to move on from Baker Mayfield in favor of an “adult” at quarterback.

“Here’s the irony: The Browns wanted an “adult” at QB, so they acquired a new Face of the Franchise who faces 22 civil suits from women accusing him of everything from sexual misconduct to sexual assault.”

Skip Bayless hit the nail on the head with Browns trade for Deshaun Watson

There’s a football side to the hubbub around Watson’s trade to the Browns, which shifts power in the already competitive AFC North. We can talk for ages about what the quarterback could mean for the franchise with terrible history at the position.

But there’s also a human side of it, and that’s the side Bayless chose to highlight.

Watson is facing 22 civil lawsuits alleging inappropriate behavior with female masseuses at best and sexual assault at worst.

He may have avoided criminal charges but the NFL hasn’t needed criminal charges to punish players for apparent violations of the league’s personal conduct policy.

As it is, many Browns fans have stated their displeasure over the trade considering Watson’s situation.

The fact that Trevor Bauer tried to use Watson’s situation to complain about the MLB placing him on administrative leave isn’t a good look for the league or the Browns.

More than anything, it’s clear that in the NFL the amount of adulthood you are expected to show is directly related to how many touchdowns you can throw.
