Brock Holt, who will always be loved by the Boston Red Sox faithful, has agreed to a new minor league deal with the Atlanta Braves.

Mention the name Brock Holt around Fenway Park and Boston Red Sox fans are going to have their faces light up. Holt spent seven memorable seasons with the squad, including appearing in more than 100 games during the World Series campaign of 2018.

Holt was out there in free agency, with people in Boston hoping he’d somehow return to the team. That won’t be happening, however, as Holt has agreed to a minor league contract with the Atlanta Braves.

Atlanta’s busy offseason continued by signing Brock Holt

According to David O’Brien of The Athletic, Holt is at camp and he’s ready to try and push to win a bench job. Due to his experience and ability to play in multiple different positions, Braves fans are excited about the kind of depth Holt can provide.

This is now the sixth team Holt has joined in his career, as he previously suited up for the Pirates, Braves, Brewers, Nationals and Rangers. There’s no question Holt is best known for his playing days with Boston, which also included a trip to the All-Star Game in 2015.

Holt spent last season with Texas, appearing in 76 games for the AL West side. He hit .209, with two home runs and 23 RBI. The low batting average was disappointing to see, but now Holt is hopeful he can impress at spring training to try and make the Opening Day roster.

Everyone in Boston will be hoping the best for him moving forward, as Holt won’t be forgotten anytime soon in the city. People still talk about the impressive career he had with the club.
