The NHL trade deadline come and gone and the playoff race is heating up. Here are the updated odds for the 2022 Stanley Cup Champion.

The Colorado Avalanche, Florida Panthers, and the defending champion Tampa Bay Lightning are among the favorites to win this year. The Eastern Conference has been active at the trade deadline  so it looks to be an exciting playoff for the conference. The West got a little weaker at the deadline with multiple sellers but they’re bound to have an exciting wild card race.

  • Avalanche +400
  • Panthers + 500
  • Lightning +700
  • Flames +800
  • Hurricanes +1000
  • Maple Leafs +1200
  • Golden Knights +1300
  • Wild +2000
  • Penguins +2000
  • Bruins + 2500
  • Rangers +2500
  • Blues +3000
  • Oilers +3000
  • Capitals +3500
  • Kings +4000
  • Stars +5000
  • Predators +5000

Western Conference wild card race will be competitive

The eastern conference is certainly a more dominant conference in the NHL, but the playoff race will be much more competitive in the west. Five teams look to be in a decent position to challenge the current seven seeded Golden Knights for their wild card spot. The Minnesota Wild were one of the few buyers in the west yet their odds at the cups were only slightly altered.

The Ducks, Jets, Sharks and Canucks were all sellers at the deadline despite having a shot at a wild card spot. Anaheim was part of a blockbuster trade deal that included their top defensemen Hampus Lindholm. THe team received multiple picks and prospects in return for their defender.

Canucks look to have a shot at the wild card race despite selling both Tyler Motte and Travis Hamonic. Vancouver did acquire Travis Dermott from the Maple Leafs to boost their defense. Dermott is only 25 years old so he won’t make an instant impact but this team has looked solid all year. With the team keeping superstar JT Miller, the Canucks could still make a run for the wild card spot. They currently sit four points behind the Golden Knights for the seventh seed.

Panthers Emerging as favorites in the Eastern Conference

The Florida Panthers were the biggest winners at the deadline and their Stanley Cup odds have reflected that. The Panthers acquired multiple elite players in the last few days including Claude Giroux, Ben Chariot, and Petteri Lindbohm. The Panthers sit just three points behind the Colorado Avalanche in the race for the presidents trophy. Their new acquisitions boosted their chances at a cup title greatly. They have jumped from being the fourth most likely team to the second most likely team to win it all.

Lindbohm and Chariot will be essential pieces to closing out the regular season with Aaron Eklbad’s recent injury. Chariot, who came from the Canadiens, will be a first pair defensemen and he’s a great fit in Florida. The 30-year-old defensemen has elite size and experience for a Panthers team that should make a run in May.

Expect the additions of Chariot and Giroux to propel Florida to a deep playoff run.
