3 players Chiefs can draft to replace the void left by Tyreek Hill trade
Dealing Tyreek Hill leaves the Chiefs’ offense without a big-time weapon at receiver. Here are three draft prospects who can change that for Kansas City.
The Chiefs extracted reasonable value from the Dolphins in the Tyreek Hill trade, but it’s clearly a move that weakens the Kansas City offense. If the organization wants Patrick Mahomes and company to keep lighting up the scoreboard next season they need to acquire a new weapon at wide receiver.
Help could come on the free agency market, but the fact that the Chiefs now have back-to-back picks at the end of Round 1 gives the franchise a real opportunity to nab one of this year’s top wide receiver prospects. Kansas City could stand pat and wait for a high-level wideout to fall to them at No. 29 or they could package their picks together to move up the board and grab the prospect they covet the most.
The bottom line here is that the Chiefs should do everything they can to go all-in to give this roster a chance at another Super Bowl title. Grabbing one of the following three wide receiver prospects would help soften the blow of Hill’s departure.

3. Jameson Williams
Williams isn’t destined to become the next Tyreek Hill, but there are a lot of stylistic similarities between the two players. The former Alabama star projects as a player who can feature both on the outside and in the slot at the next level due to his rare combination of speed and quickness.
The fact that Williams is still recovering from a knee injury he suffered during his final season with the Crimson tide has artificially lowered his draft stock. There’s a chance he could fall all the way to Kansas City at No. 29. If that happens, the Chiefs should pounce on arguably the class’ most gifted wide receiver.
