Yet, the USMNT star missed an easy opportunity in the first half against Mexico that would’ve given the Americans a vital road goal in their quest to qualify for the World Cup.
Qualifying in CONCACAF didn’t used to be a big deal, but with the likes of Canada and Panama suddenly surging, and Mexico and Costa Rica remaining consistent, the USMNT is by no means guaranteed a slot.
Missing the World Cup for the second consecutive cycle would be disastrous. It’s unspeakable until it happens, and ought to induce more of a response than a Taylor Twellman rant.
