NCAA Women’s Tournament bracket update 2022: Who made the Elite Eight?
The Elite Eight for the NCAA Women’s Tournament is locked in with No. 1 seeds making statements and Cinderellas still in the hunt.
The NCAA Women’s Tournament is down to just eight.
All four No. 1 seeds took care of business and made it through their matchups to put themselves in a position to cut down the nets.
South Carolina took down No. 5 North Carolina in a rivalry matchup on Friday, 69-61, while Stanford made it past No. 4 Maryland, 72-66.
Saturday’s action saw NC State overcome No. 5 Notre Dame, 66-63, and Louisville pull away from No. 4 Tennessee.
A couple of No. 2 seeds also punched their ticket to the Elite Eight. For UConn that involved a blowout victory over No. 3 Indiana, 75-58. It was a narrower affair for Texas in a 66-63 win over No. 6 Ohio State.
The surprise of Friday came courtesy of No. 10 Creighton, who upset No. 3 Iowa State to extend their magical run and claim complete dominance over the state of Iowa.
No. 10 South Dakota tried to do the same thing to No. 3 Michigan on Saturday night but the Wolverines held on to advance, 52-49.
