Randall Cobb has heartfelt goodbye message for Davante Adams
Green Bay Packers wide receiver Randall Cobb offered a heartfelt goodbye to former Packers star wideout Davante Adams on Instagram.
It’s been a heartbreaking offseason for the small town of Green Bay, Wisconsin, as fans have eagerly awaited to see if its biggest stars would leave town.
While Aaron Rodgers decided to stay, Davante Adams chose to leave. This wasn’t just difficult on fans struggling to imagine what the next season looks like—it was tough for Randall Cobb, too.
Cobb, who was drafted by the Packers in 2011, has spent nearly ten years total in Green Bay as a wide receiver that Rodgers trusts. It’s why Rodgers campaigned to get him back on the roster in 2021, and with Adams gone, Cobb is the sole veteran the Packers have in their arsenal.
Cobb honored his longtime friend and teammate with a heartfelt goodbye on Instagram, featuring a slideshow of the receiving duo’s best moments.

When Adams was drafted to the Packers in 2014, Cobb had been their for three seasons already. When Adams met Cobb for the first time, he assumed he was a seasoned wideout who was ’10 years in’ to his NFL career. In reality, it was Cobb’s forth season, and he was a few months away from turning 24 years old.
“It’s funny, because when G-Mo came in he said the same thing about me,” Adams recalled in 2018. “He felt like I was an old guy. And I still don’t feel like an old guy now. So now, when they come in, I let them know – I’m right there with you. I’m not that old just yet.”
That year would prove to be Cobb’s last in Green Bay before spending a season with the Dallas Cowboys, then another with the Houston Texans. When Cobb left, Adams seemed to take up the additional target share as his star rose even higher. Adams became a household name across the nation, his fantastical numbers garnering praise from fantasy fanatics and football fans alike.
Now, Adams is headed to the Las Vegas Raiders as he reunites with one of his old pals in Raiders quarterback Derek Carr. But as someone who has played for other teams, Cobb appreciates the time he did have playing alongside Adams in Green Bay.
