Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes reacted to Will Smith taking a swing at Chris Rock during the Oscars.

If you were not watching the Oscars, you probably saw tweets on and received text messages from friends who were viewing it about one particular moment.

During the ceremony, Chris Rock made a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith, causing her husband Will Smith to approach him on the stage and take a swing at him.

It was quite the stunning altercation, and Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was just as shocked as everyone else.

Rock was on stage presenting the award for Best Documentary, where he made a joke about Pinkett Smith’s hair loss. That is when Smith, who is nominated for Best Actor for his role in King Richard, walked onto the stage, approached Rock and struck him in the face.

Although the audio was cut in the United States, international broadcasts caught the full interaction afterward. When Rock said “Will Smith smacked the s— out of me,” Smith can then be heard screaming “keep my wife’s name out of your f—ing mouth.”

Last year, Pinkett Smith announced that she was shaving her head after struggling with alopecia.
