Peyton Manning wants his Tom Brady retirement gift back

The Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback apparently served some wine before it’s time. The hilarity between Peyton Manning and Tom Brady continues.

During his amazing enshrinement speech last August in Canton, Ohio, Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning touched on many subjects. With his rival and friend Tom Brady in attendance, he spoke of seven-time Super Bowl champion (and counting?) and his eventual speech (possibly posted to Instagram) coming his first year of eligibility in the year 2035.

Perhaps the former Indianapolis Colts’ and Denver Broncos’ star was onto something. Two months after retiring after his 22nd NFL season, Brady has decided to return to the league for year No. 23. And that apparently has the always-thoughtful Manning second-guessing a magnificent gesture on his part.

At the very least, Manning’s prediction on how long the NFL’s all-time leader in passing yards and touchdown passes during both the regular season and postseason remains alive. Brady, who along with Manning are the only two quarterbacks to lead two different franchises to Super Bowl titles, apparently isn’t ready to hang up his cleats.

And Tampa Bay sideline leader Bruce Arians knows why when it comes to free agents joining the team.

“They know what Tom brings and we got a shot for another ring,” said the Super Bowl LV champion head coach to NFL Network’s Steve Wyche (via PFT’s Michael David Smith). “And that’s it. That’s bottom line…It’s all about the ring again. Not reloading, not seeing who’s going to do this, who’s going to do that, how we are we going to fit this guy in. Everybody knows their role again right now…The smile really hasn’t come off my face…”

The entertaining rapport between Manning and Brady continues even after the former left the field for the last time following the Broncos’ victory in Super Bowl 50. Meanwhile, the latter star for the Patriots and Bucs continues to add to his amazing NFL resume. It’s just a matter of time before these two legendary performers are Pro Football Hall of Fame teammates. Of course, that bottle of wine could be very aged by then.
