MLB star drives the same beat-up car you did in high school

Despite a multi-million dollar contract with the New York Mets, Brandon Nimmo still drives around in an old beat-up car.
New York Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo has a $7 million contract and could likely afford any car he wants, but he is sticking with his 2010 Nissan Altima. Nimmo’s loyalty to the Altima runs deep, and he has no plans of getting a new car anytime soon.
Why does Brandon Nimmo love his old beat-up Nissan Altima so much?
Nimmo seemingly feels humbled by the Altima, especially after a bad game (via Nico Demattia, The Drive).
"“It keeps me humble. It kind of reminds me of where I came from. When I have a bad game, I can hop in and be like, ‘I’m glad I didn’t buy that $100,000 Mercedes.’ I’ll probably run her till she’s ragged, and then we’ll see what happens.”"
Nimmo was drafted by the New York Mets in 2011 and has made nearly $10 million total over the course of his career. He’d have no problem getting a newer and nicer car, but the pros outweigh the cons in keeping the Altima. Nimmo doesn’t worry about keeping his car in perfect condition which is important as a resident of New York City (via Anthony DiComo, MLB).
"“When I got to New York City, I was like, ‘Oh my God, I’ve got to be a defensive driver all the time. People are always trying to cut in front of you. I was like, ‘You know what? I don’t need a nice car, because you’ve got to play chicken with these people anyway. If the Altima gets a little beat-up, I don’t care. It gets me from Point A to Point B.”"
Nimmo seems to love his Altima and will likely stay loyal to it for many more years.
