NCAA basketball coaches can be worth a ton to a top program. Here are the coaches currently working at the highest annual salaries.

For top programs, like the Kentucky Wildcats, Kanas Jayhawks and Villanova Wildcats, a top-noth coach can provide a lot of bang for a school’s buck. Fans and sponsors are going to pay top dollar to watch these teams, and so they can afford to pay for top talent.

Who are the top three highest-paid NCAA basketball coaches?

The best in the Big 12 and the highest-paid coach, Kansas Bill Self, cashed out a $10.18 million annual salary for this season. Following Self, comes John Calipari of Kentucky with a $8.6 million salary and Tom Izzo of Michigan State with a $8.3 million salary.

Though the top three coaches have enormous salaries and run some of the best programs in the country, the coach sitting in fourth place might be the most well-known coach in college basketball — Mike Krzyzewski of Duke who made $7.3 million this season.

Coach K is the fourth highest-paid coach in the NCAA this season, the final one of his illustrious career. But he will be going into retirement with an enormous fortune after his reign is over at Duke.

The remaining highest-paid coaches are:

5. Jay Wright, Villanova — $6.19 million

6. Chris Beard, Texas — $5.25 million

7. Rick Barnes, Tennesse — $5.2 million

8. Chris Mack, Louisville — $4.35 million

9. Jamie Dixon, TCU — $4.34 million

10. Bob Huggins, West Virginia — $4.15 million
