As Ramsey points out, he and Diggs are very different athletes and approach the game in very different ways. And even though the results look different, Ramsey seems to believe that both he and Diggs are effective and can accomplish quite a bit when they’re on the field.
Even though he was presented with the opportunity to pile on with regards to some of Diggs’ shortcomings in the way he approaches various scenarios, Ramsey made sure to point out Diggs’ strengths and the fact that he snagged 11 interceptions last season.
Los Angeles Rams: Jalen Ramsey praises Trevon Diggs while discussing the difference in playing styles
“It’s a different style of how he plays,” Ramsey explained. “I agree, if you’re a guy who plays in phase a lot, like he does, you’re gonna have to have a lot of picks, which he does though. He does, so it’s working out for him. He’s one of the best at doing that.”
In all of this, Ramsey also made sure to highlight how Diggs takes bigger risks and is able to come out with more interceptions than many other defensive backs across the league. Even though that sometimes doesn’t work out in his favor, Diggs is able to make those gambles pay off fairly frequently.
And it seems like he’s earned some respect from Ramsey in the process.
