1. Stephen Curry can take over in crunch time for the Warriors

Curry’s regular-season performance may not have him in the MVP debate this season, but his scoring ability still makes him one of the most dangerous postseason players in all of basketball. When the game is on the line there’s no one Warriors fans would prefer to have the ball in his hands.

Opponents know they have to really get out on Curry to make sure he doesn’t torch them with his elite three-point shooting. Playing that high against Curry does permit him to get his passing game going off the dribble. He may not be what some fans consider to be a “pure” point guard, but he’s averaging over six assists per game this season because he’s unselfish and has good vision.

That’s why Curry can take over tense playoff games with his shooting or passing ability depending on how the opponent elects to play him. The latter puts some pressure on Curry’s teammates to hit open shots, but he’s unselfish enough to give them that opportunity.

Next. The Buck are peaking at the right time. dark

If Curry gets on a hot streak with his jump shot in the playoffs it could be enough to power the Warriors past any single opponent they encounter. Golden State doesn’t want to rely on Curry to go off every night of the postseason, but they realize it’s always an option to bail them out if nothing else is going right. Having that kind of offensive trump card is a cheat code for the Warriors in the playoffs.
