Matt LaFleur made confusing comment on Davante Adams trade
The Green Bay Packers are going to have a rough time trying to replace the productivity of All-Pro wideout Davante Adams.
It’s been around two weeks since the Green Bay Packers shockingly traded Davante Adams to the Las Vegas Raiders and people all over Wisconsin remain in disbelief over the move. What he and Aaron Rodgers were able to do together was unreal for so long.
Now, Green Bay is getting ready for life after Adams and it’s not going to be easy. Just ask head coach Matt LaFleur about that. LaFleur knows things are going to be quite complicated for this team moving forward.
Green Bay trading Davante Adams still has fans furious
“Certainly, if you look at our roster right now, we definitely need to get some speed in that room,” LaFleur said this week via ESPN. “We need a legit guy that can take off the top of the coverage. We lost a guy that was pretty good at doing that.”
Packers fans must be pounding their fists after seeing that quote. This offense is 100 percent different without Adams on the field. Rodgers might be one of the best quarterbacks of his generation and the back-to-back MVP winner, but the Adams loss is massive for him.
Right now, Green Bay doesn’t feature a superstar wideout for the aerial attack. On top of losing Adams, the Packers also saw Marquez Valdes-Scantling sign a new deal with the Kansas City Chiefs.
Green Bay figures to use a first-rounder on a speedster for Rodgers, but it’s going to take time for chemistry to be built. Adams said it was his dream to play with the Raiders, but this trade continues to look rough for Brian Gutekunst and the front office.
