The Los Angeles Rams have agreed to a five-year contract with future Hall-of-Fame linebacker Bobby Wagner.

After plenty of speculation in recent weeks, the move has been made official: Bobby Wagner is returning to the Los Angeles area to suit up for the Rams. After a glorious career with the Seattle Seahawks, Wagner is staying in the division with one of the team’s biggest rivals.

According to Ian Rapoport, the Rams have signed Wagner to a five-year, $50 million contract. With incentives, Wagner could end up taking home $65 million.

Bobby Wagner signing with the Rams is massive for the reigning Super Bowl champs

Wagner had been linked to several other teams, but it’s clear his heart was always set on playing in the Los Angeles area. Wagner went to Colony High in Ontario, which is a short 40-minute drive to LA.

With the Seahawks releasing Wagner this offseason, which infuriated the fanbase, teams were lining up to try and ink him. The Rams have won the sweepstakes and they’ve made their team even stronger as they get ready to try and repeat as champs in 2022.

While with the Seahawks from 2012-2021, Wagner went to the Pro Bowl eight times and earned First Team All Pro honors six times. He also helped bring the first Lombardi Trophy to Seattle, as the Seahawks won it all in 2014.

In total, Wagner closed his Seattle days with a ming-blowing 1,383 tackles. He’ll always be loved by the fanbase, which makes the news of him joining the Rams even more difficult. Los Angeles bringing in Wagner has fans fired up about this team potentially repeating. Wagner is without question one of the best ‘backers in the game and it’s bad news for the NFC West as a whole that he’ll now be donning a Rams uniform.
