Charles Barkley has spoken, as the Kansas Jayhawks are absolutely winning the national championship on Monday night.

No matter what happens between Duke and North Carolina, Charles Barkley is picking Kansas to win the national championship.

This knucklehead has seen enough. For as much hype as the Tobacco Road rivalry has had on the national landscape, Kansas has quietly been playing some fantastic ball under head coach Bill Self. After looking lost in the first half of their Elite Eight game vs. Miami, Kansas has put the pedal to the metal and has been straight up throttling people. The Jayhawks are peaking at the right time.

Here is what Barkley had to say about Kansas after they had no issues putting away Villanova in their Final Four matchup on Saturday evening.

“Not only are they going to play for the national championship on Monday, they’re going to win the national championship on Monday. I’ve seen enough,” said Barkley. “They’re going to be tough for anybody to beat. They’re going to win the national championship.”

Here is the video clip of Barkley making his grand proclamation about all things Jayhawks.

Charles Barkley already knows, Kansas Jayhawks will win the national title

If Kansas is as good as Barkley thinks they are, the Jayhawks will win their first national championship in 14 years under Self. It would be his second at the helm of the blue-blood program and the sixth in school history. Given that both Duke and North Carolina have raised national championship banners more recently than Kansas, doing so will be even more special.

Going up against Self and his boys will either be the living legend that is Mike Krzyzewski and his Blue Devils or the up-and-comer Hubert Davis and the Tar Heels who are on the ride of a lifetime. If Duke wins, it will be Coach K’s final game of his illustrious coaching career. Should North Carolina end Coach K’s career, Davis will be playing for a national title in his first year as UNC’s head coach.

Ultimately, Duke vs. North Carolina in the Final Four with Coach K’s coaching future up in the air will be as captivating as it will be emotionally draining. Even though the winner will be playing for a national championship, it would be awfully hard to get off the emotional roller coaster that is beating an arch-rival in the Final Four. This is a big reason why Kansas could potentially win it all.

With Barkley’s alma mater out of contention, look at him hopping on the Rock Chalk bandwagon.
