Stone Cold Steve Austin age: How old is WWE legend?
With WrestleMania 38 in Texas, it only figured that WWE would bring Stone Cold Steve Austin into the fold. But how old is the pro wrestling legend?
Few names in WWE history and few people have resonated with crowds like Hall of Famer Stone Cold Steve Austin. The beer-drinking, middle-finger flying Texan behind the great Austin 3:16 slogan is one of the greatest to ever step in the squared circle. And so it stands to reason why fans are excited that he’s going to be part of WrestleMania 38 in his home state.
But because we know that Austin was a key part of the Attitude era in the late 1990s and early 2000s combined with the fact that we haven’t seen him all that regularly with WWE in recent years, fans might be wondering just how long Stone Cold has been around.
Particularly, it’s worth asking just how old Austin is before he steps in the ring with Kevin Owens for a segment at Mania.
Stone Cold age: How old is Stone Cold Steve Austin?
Born on Dec. 18, 1964, Steve Austin will be in Texas for WrestleMania 38 at a fresh 57 years old. A native of Austin, TX, though, it’s only fitting that he would show up at Jerry World in Arlington. And rest assured, whenever he’s involved, he’s going to steal the show.
Stone Cold real name: Is Steve Austin his real name?
Much like many other professional wrestlers, he competes under a character’s name. Before Steve Austin, he was known as Steve Williams. However, neither of those are actually his real name.
Stone Cold was actually born Steven James Anderson, which admittedly doesn’t sound like something that would sell as many tickets as Steve Austin. Also, it’s fitting that the Texas Rattlesnake has the city he hails from as part of his name in pro wrestling.
When did Stone Cold Steve Austin retire?
Austin’s final professional wrestling match, incidentally, came at WrestleMania XIX when he lost to The Rock on the grandest stage of them all. Of course, after his in-ring career was called off due to lingering and continuing injuries, Austin still appeared on WWE programming in various roles, whether that was as an authority figure or as a special guest like he is at Mania in 2022.
