Kansas faces North Carolina in the national championship on Monday night in NewĀ Orleans.

The No. 1 Kansas Jayhawks will play the No. 8 North Carolina Tar Heels in the 2022 National Championship on Monday night.

Tipoff from Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana will be at 9:20 p.m. ET, 8:20 p.m. CT. TBS will carry the national telecast of the championship game. For the Jayhawks, this is their first appearance in the national championship since 2012, looking to win their first national title since 2008. A win on Monday night would be the sixth in school history and the second under Bill Self.

As for the Tar Heels, this is their first national championship game appearance since winning it all in 2017. A win over the Jayhawks would give the Tar Heels their seventh national title in school history. Obviously, it would be the first with Hubert Davis as their head coach, as he took over for the iconic Roy Williams this season. For him to even be playing for one is nothing short of amazing.

Here are the betting odds for the national championship game, as well as a final score prediction.

Kansas vs. UNC odds

According to WynnBET, the Jayhawks are a four-point favorite on a neutral court. The associated moneylines for this game are Jayhawks -190 and Tar Heels +160. This game’s over/under comes in at a combined 151.5 points. Clearly, the oddsmakers believe that while Kansas is the slight favorite, they expect North Carolina to put up a fight and have this one coming down to the wire.

Kansas vs. UNC prediction

While there is a chance North Carolina can carry that momentum after its Final Four victory over Duke to retire Coach K, no team is playing better basketball of late than Kansas. Villanova may have been depleted heading into the national semifinals, but the Jayhawks were rarely challenged in that game. For UNC to win, Brady Manek and the boys better be ready to grind a tough one out.

Prediction: Kansas 80, North Carolina 74
