UNC basketball may have been playing Kansas in the NCAA National Championship game on Monday, but they came ready to troll Duke as well.

The rivalry between UNC and Duke is one of the best in college sports and they more than lived up to it on Saturday with a thrilling Final Four matchup.

The Tar Heels moved on to face Kansas in the national title game but the focus on Monday wasn’t just about the Jayhawks.

After all, what’s the point of playing if there’s no opportunity to troll Duke?

UNC fans thought of plenty of ways to do it, but the most popular seemed to be reviving an old meme.

The answer isn’t locked in but there were plenty of examples of the sign being revived, including by former UNC guard Theo Pinson.

Meanwhile, fans on Twitter were having fun with the phrase and hastag #WheresDook on Twitter.

What’s the origin of “Where’s Dook?”

The Tar Heels and Jayhawks are meeting in the NCAA Tournament for the first time ever this year but they came close to facing off in 2009. A matchup was possible in the Final Four except Duke lost to Villanova in the Sweet 16.

That spawned the iconic photo, featuring former Tar Heel Makhtar N’Diaye holding up the cardboard sign asking where UNC’s rival was.

Along with N’Diaye, you can see Vince Carter, Julius Peppers and Antawn Jamison laughing it up.

Back then, they were asking “Where’s Dook?” because the Blue Devils didn’t follow through to make their matchup a reality. This time the question is even more of a slight because UNC sent them home in the first place.
