Sebastian Fundora vs. Erickson Lubin fight card, start time, channel guide.
Premier Boxing Champions and Showtime return to the Las Vegas Strip to host an interim WBC super welterweight title fight. Sebastian Fundora (18-0-1), who is known as “The Towering Inferno,” goes up against top contender Erickson Lubin (24-1). The winner of this fight will be in a prime position to challenge for the WBC title towards the end of the year.
The 24-year-old Fundora is a phenom as he stands at 6’5” and somehow can make the 154-pound weight limit to compete in the super welterweight division. Although Fundora earned knockout victories early in his career, his last fight against then-undefeated Sergio Garcia (33-1) positioned him for this opportunity against Lubin.
On the other hand, Lubin was a red-hot prospect coming up the ranks who stepped up to the challenge when he faced unified champion Jermell Charlo (34-1-1) in October 2017. After suffering a first-round knockout, Lubin has slowly worked his way back up and is on a six-fight win streak. In his last fight, he knocked out former unified champion Jeison Rosario (20-2-1).
The co-main features former world champion Tony Harrison (28-3-1) as he tries to get back into title contention against Sergio Garcia. The 31-year-old Harrison is coming off of a split draw with Bryant Perrella (17-3) back in April, 2021. Garcia looks to get in the way of Harrison’s future plans for a title and propel his name to the top of the contender list.
