According to MLB Network’s Jon Morosi, Chicago White Sox outfielder Micker Adolfo is “a popular name in trade talks.”
The Chicago White Sox enter the 2022 season looking to repeat as AL Central champions. Ahead of the season, the White Sox decided to move reliever Craig Kimbrel to the Los Angeles Dodgers in exchange for outfielder A.J. Pollock. That created crowded starting outfield alongside Eloy Jimenez and Luis Robert.
According to MLB Network’s Jon Morosi, outfielder Micker Adolfo has been “a popular name in trade talks” this week, as there is uncertainty whether he will make it onto Chicago’s Opening Day roster.

White Sox shopping young outfielder after strong spring
Adolfo is Chicago’s 14th-overall ranked prospect in their pipeline. This spring, Adolfo made the most of his playing time during exhibition games, as he recorded a .435 batting average, a 1.283 OPS, two home runs and nine RBI in 23 at-bats.
The White Sox signed Adolfo back in 2013, and he has been a part of the organization ever since. He has yet to make it onto the major league roster.
Last season, Adolfo split time between Double-A and Triple-A. In 101 games, the outfielder slashed .245/.311/.520 and recorded 25 home runs, 69 RBI and 90 hits.
As Morosi notes, it is unknown if Adolfo will make it onto Chicago’s Opening Day roster. Either way, he has become a “popular name” in trade talks for a reason, especially with how he performed at the plate throughout this spring.
